I bought the aged version of this neckplate along with a stamped serial number, and I couldn’t be happier with the final product. I’m attaching a maple 1972 P-bass neck to a brand new one-piece swamp ash body (by Warmoth) and really wanted a vintage neckplate. However, as the owner of a stock 1972 J-bass, I knew the neckplate needed a serial number as well as look a little worn.
Well, I got everything I wanted! This neckplate looks exactly like the J-bass one. I don’t know what they do to age it, but whatever it is, it’s scarily accurate. Oh, and the screws are aged, too, which is like icing on the cake!
Just make sure your serial number is accurate…
